An Analysis of Lexical and Grammatical Cohesion of Six Feet Apart Song by Alec Benjamin

Abstract
 This paper shows the linguistic aspect in term of discourse analysis lyrics song. Those aspects are cohesion device and grammatical cohesion. Cohesion devices divided into two descriptions, those are; lexical devices. Grammatical contains reference, ellipsis, substitution, conjunction while collocation reiteration. research analyzes from soloist band namely Alec Benjamin entitle “Six feet apart”. After analyzing six apart’s lyric, result that kinds exist lyric. The first kind which is found reference. references personal, adverbial demonstrative, selective nominal comparative reference most frequent used lyric personal usage cohesive so important to make meaningful language text united.. function within stanza apart song making a relationship also it express stress singer’s idea.
